Seeing the need to enhance recruitment/enlistment in our nation's Armed Forces on campus at a North Texas high school, Founder & Historian Ryan Sisak took the initiative, coordinating with school officials and local recruiters from the United States Marine Corps, the United States Air Force, United States Space Force, and the United States Army.
This was the first time in the history of the school that a dedicated recruiting event was organized and executed by the school. In all, 25 students attended, hearing inspired oral history vignettes from Urban Valor and American Veterans Center. Following testimonials from the recruiters on their journeys into and through the military, several students expressed strong interest in beginning the enlistment process, and all students completed the interest forms. Overall, this event laid the groundwork for more extensive recruiting events to be held during the upcoming school year, with the aim of eventually hosting all the service branches and all of the district's high schools.
Although acting entirely as a civilian, Mr. Sisak was honored beyond measure to serve the recruiting missions of the USMC, USAF, and U.S. Army. Mr. Sisak extends his utmost thanks to the Irving, TX recruiters—who said "yes" to this idea from the get-go, and launched this operation without hesitation: SSgt Brandon Baquera, USMC; TSgt Randolph Baez, USAF; and SFC Raymond Jackson, USA.
